Organize your sale into distinct sections or departments. First, sort your items for sale and group similar items together on a table. Then, display all your kitchen-related items together on one table, all your books on another, toys on another, etc.
Garage Sale Prep: Spacing Tables
Set your tables a minimum of 36 inches apart because people typically shop longer if they don’t feel crowded. To maximize space in your garage, line tables along the perimeter and double them up in the center (see the graphic above).
Garage Sale Prep: Gather Tables
Displaying your items on tables makes it easier for people to shop at your sale. A few weeks before your sale gather and locate tables to use. Ask family members, neighbors, and friends. If you're struggling with finding tables, be creative - two saw horses or six milk crates with a solid surface on top can create tables!
Garage Sale Prep: Signage
Make sure your garage sale signs are easy to read and contain a visible arrow so shoppers can easily find your sale.
