Purchase products with recyclable packaging

Have you ever noticed how similar products can be packaged differently? In this photo, the toothpaste on the left can't be recycled, but the one on the right can be recycled because the container is #5. When you shop and have to choose between two products, find out if either if the packaging can be recycled.

Avoid buying more than you need

When you're organized it's easier to know what you have on hand. When you find a great deal, consider how much you will reasonably use in the next few years.

Avoid Over-Buying

Most people love to find a great deal.  To avoid purchasing more than you will use, check the expiration dates first to figure out how much you and your family can consume before the food item expires.
